expressed my feelings; 6:03 PM
Just woke up from a fulfilling TEN hours of sleep. ((: I slept at midnight yesterday okay.
Wedding dinners! I totally enjoy them. Even though we were like at some spare table cause there weren't enough seats and all. But still, the food rocked. My family is seriously rich. Not my direct family, my granduncle's family. (:
And I finally found out the order of my biew sokes (表叔) and biew yis (表姨). It's all in Cantonese lah, so yesterday I was in total Canton mode. Which rocks.
My biew sokes are all so charming and charismatic. Suave, according to my mummy, who is their cousin. (: And they're all like... Dont look like their age. That must be what drinking Bird's Nest like drinking plain water does to you. Hmm.
Rich people. XD I'm glad that I have relatives like that, so I can eat like alot alot alot of good food in one night. Even though these kind of nights are always very far apart. ):
Anyway, yesterday Rev Dominic Yeo from Trinity CC came to LSBC to preach. His sermon was great. Really touched my heart deeply and all.
Rev Dominic Yeo preached from Luke 15, on the three parables that Jesus told the Pharisees. They were The Parable of the Lost Sheep, The Parable of the Lost Coin, and The Parable of the Lost Son. These three passages are familiar to me, having grown up in church, but Rev Yeo brought out a whole different aspect of the parables that I've never realised about before.
See, in The Parable of the Lost Sheep, it's one in one hundred that goes missing. Which makes it only 1%. In The Parable of the Lost Coin, it's one in ten coins, making it 10%. Whereas in The Parable of the Lost Son, it's 50%, one out of two sons.
Therefore, this shows us that with COMPASSION, like the shepherd who left his 99 sheep to look for the lost one, we can bring 1% of the people we know to Christ. With INTENT, we can bring back 10% of the people we know to Christ. Lastly, with GRACE, we are able to get 50% of the people back to Christ.
Hence this is the equation that Rev Yeo used to sum it all up.
Compassion = 1%
Compassion + Intent = 10%
Compassion + Intent + Grace = 50%
I shall set my heart on doing it. XD
Next week's Rain Camp! 8 to 10 Dec! Dont call me, I'll be having a whale of a good time basking in the Lord's presence! <33333
And I shall now turn random. Okay this is the first, and perhaps last random thing I shall say in this blogpost. I have come up with a new funny quote. Or whatever. Calvin fans, dont kill me cause I'm a Calvin fan too. (:
Calvin's not GAY, he's LES. XD
